Bremen's main train station is an indispensable part of the city as a transport hub and architectural feature. As one of the most important centres for rail traffic in the north of Germany, Bremen's main station is available to around 120,000 travellers every day, who use the imposing building in the Neo-Renaissance architectural style as the starting point, arrival point or connection point for their train journeys.

By ICE, IC/EC and RE, you can easily reach the centre of Bremen and one of the most modern railway stations in Germany - including a shopping area that invites you to stroll and linger.
At the station forecourt you will find connections to the BSAG bus and tram network and a BSAG customer centre. From there it's about a ten-minute walk to the market square or about five minutes by bus or tram to the Domsheide stop in the city centre.
The Messe- und Congress Centrum and the ÖVB Arena (Bremen Arena) are a three-minute walk away via the north exit of the main station.
Bremen's Main Train Station was built in 1889 and is now used by 120,000 travellers and visitors every day. Located north-east of the city centre, it is an important hub for regional, national and international long-distance traffic. Around 100 long-distance and 410 local trains run on nine tracks every day. In addition, around 30 shops are open inside the station every day of the year.
One of the showpieces of the main station is the listed reception hall. It was built by the Hanoverian architect Hubert Stier in the neo-Renaissance style and was voted the most beautiful in the whole of Germany by the "Allianz pro Schiene" (Pro-Rail Alliance) in 2012. The three classicist reliefs above the main entrance bear witness to the feeling of the time at the end of the 19th century. And inside, too, a magnificent wall mosaic catches the eye. It was only rediscovered and restored in 2000.

The City Gate Bremen has been located directly opposite the station since 2019. The City Gate is home to restaurants, offices, hotels and shopping facilities. As the new gateway to the city, it offers visitors a great welcome to our beautiful Hanseatic city.
