Every year in January, the Sixdays Bremen attract cycling fans to the ÖVB-Arena. On the 166.66 metre-long track, international professional teams, young talent and amateurs compete in exciting duels for victory. Every year in January, the 'Feuerwerk der Turnkunst' stops off at the ÖVB Arena. You can expect a unique mix of sport, artistry and dance. The artists and acrobats present spectacular performances, impressive gymnastics, captivating choreographies and rousing music under a specific motto.

When SV Werder Bremen plays at the Weserstadion, the Hanseatic City becomes a football stronghold. The traditional club's home games attract fans from near and far and provide unforgettable moments on and off the pitch. Holiday on Ice has been thrilling millions of spectators worldwide for over 75 years - and the show also makes a stop at Bremen's ÖVB-Arena every February. Classic figure skating meets modern show elements, acrobatics, dance and musicals, which together create an exciting experience. International figure skaters and celebrity guests await you, accompanied by impressive stage technology and creative productions. Every year, the ice show surprises with a new programme - a highlight you shouldn't miss!

The German Beach Tour makes Bremen the centre for exciting beach volleyball. The best national teams compete against each other in the sand on the grounds behind the Waterfront and provide thrilling matches at the highest level. With a mixture of sporting competition and relaxed summer flair, the event offers a special experience for you!

Bremen is celebrating a premiere in 2025 - for the first time, our Hanseatic city will be part of the global GFNY race series. Starting from the Tabakquartier, participants will set off on their bikes on a varied route through Bremen and the surrounding countryside. Two distances await you: 110 and 60 kilometres. The longer distance is for the competition with a podium finish. Here, all participants also have the chance to qualify for the legendary GFNY Wolrd Championship in New York. The short distance is suitable for all recreational athletes.

The first weekend in October in Bremen is all about running: the swb Marathon is the chance for all Bremen residents to put their stamina to the test. Since 2006, the marathon has taken participants on a 42.195 km course through various districts of Bremen and past the city's most beautiful sights. If the distance is a little too far for you, you can also take part in a half marathon or a 10-kilometre run.

The Gewoba City Triathlon combines top sporting performance with the unique backdrop of Bremen. Swimming, cycling and running - the three disciplines take participants through the most beautiful corners of the city. Every year in August, the head of the Europahafen harbour is transformed into the central start and finish point. You can either take part in five different competitions yourself or cheer on the other spectators up close!

Even more top-class sport awaits you in the ÖVB Arena on 15th November! The Grün-Gold-Club Bremen invites you to the German Formation Championships. You can expect exciting choreographies from the eight best teams in Germany, who will present their skills in the Standard and Latin categories in the heart of the Hanseatic city.

The stars of the international darts scene meet at the Bremen Darts Gala in the ÖVB-Arena. With impressive precision and thrilling duels, the players thrill the audience and create a unique atmosphere. Complemented by entertaining show elements, the gala is sure to be an unforgettable event - perfect for the die-hard darts fans among you who would like to experience the sport live.
